    Our opinion:

    By Snow & Saol

Here we are back in Vienna and we lasted 32 hours before we were locked up again for entertainment.

It was a hot day in Paris and we wanted to show our solidarity. What? You're telling me there's no connection? Well it's true, but I needed an excuse to play the 2 Fox in a Box theatres present here and that we hadn't yet played in Paris (and suburbs).

We arrive in front of the sign, a stone's throw from a metro station and a large shopping street in Vienna. Our MJ reҫoit immediately asks us if we have already played some halls, then invites us to leave our stuff and to go and sit down in the large reception area. As we are used to it here the briefing is done for both groups at the same time, so we wait for the others to be complete... and it's not won. What is interesting is that here they let us take our phone in case of an urgent call... it's never seen before for us, but why not?

Our mission? Nothing complicated. We are students at the Fox academy and to become secret agents we have to manage to infiltrate the headmaster's office: Mr. Fox and especially to come out of it.

So we enter the headmaster's office and the door slams behind us. So if you read our articles, you know that we always start with: search! And then we come across a padlocked safe, then two, then three, then four... and so on and so forth. We are disturbed or not really disturbed because : this sign is one of the first 3 to be installed in Vienna in 2014 and the room is of the first generation : without mechanisms, but with almost as many padlocks as enigmas. But I admit that there are a lot of them, even too many, especially because there are several 4-digit padlocks, and if you find a 4-digit code you have to try it on every padlock. The same goes for 3 digit padlocks.

In the safes you will find useful clues for the next step and so the progression, although linear, is quite fluid.

There will be a gadget that makes the room a little more modern and this is welcome. We will waste a lot of time on the riddle of the end which seems quite strange to us and above all we didn't expect something to serve more than once, but here it does.

The decoration is sober, but the chests hidden somehow in a rather succinct decoration break the atmosphere a bit. There is a background music that makes the progression more enjoyable.

The Fox in a box index system is somewhat special. These are on-demand clues given by the DOJ by a microphone or by pictures/text in mailboxes. But as I told you it is on demand and only every 10 minutes. It's a system that is completely assumed by the brand.

We are not used to asking for clues, because somehow we tell ourselves that a room should be feasible without clues. This room is, I think that since we were only two we needed another way of looking at things to finish faster.

Our Mj comes to pick us up for the end photo and the debrief in the room before we take our seats to wait for the second adventure.

    To sum up :

This is a first generation room with lots of padlocks and a large number of various enigmas and very little manipulation. It is a room that can be nice to discover what the principle of escape games is.

WARNING Here everything is in English which is good for tourists, but it can be average for Austrians.

    + We enjoyed +

    • Many interesting puzzles
    • A credible decoration
    • An old but well maintained room

    - We didn't like -

    • Too many locks
    • Not enough space
    • The index system which is not our thing
